Growing up in the small town of Rome, New York, Quiana was heavily influenced by her mother, Evangelist Beverly Holmes, a biblical playwright, who always incorporated Quiana in her works of art. She was always involved with music as her family surrounded her with it. During her high-school career at Rome Free Academy, Quiana was involved in many musical activities: symphony orchestra as first violin, Jazz Voices, marching band as a pit member, and many other select vocal groups. Quiana then decided to continue her musical education at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in her major of Professional Music; her focuses within the major were: Education, Drama, and Business.

Today, Quiana Holmes is a professional actress and singer who made her professional debut as “Dorothy” in Fiddlehead Theatre Company’s production of The Wiz, at the Historical Strand Theatre in Boston in the spring of 2015.  The following spring of 2016, Quiana was cast as Diana Ross in “Dancing in the Streets: Motown Revue Tour,” a West End Production. Quiana is currently touring with the 2017-2018 National Touring Cast of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL as Mary Wilson of The Supremes and Diana Ross u/s.

Quiana also aspires to teach along with performing. As a future music educator, Quiana’s goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment for all students. In addition to learning technique, Quiana wants to encourage students how to creatively express themselves and their emotions through the discipline of music; ultimately enhancing life values and morals, while modeling commitment, and responsibility. Quiana believes that everyone is born with a gift and every gift is welcomed in music.
